Shamim Wambere recently sat for the Illinois bar and upon her swearing in as an attorney, will continue with Arnoux Sharma Standeford, LLC as a part of the team with Mr. Matthew Arnoux. Having previous family law experience, Shamim focuses on all aspects of family law, including divorce, custody issues, division of assets, and child/spousal support. Shamim is dedicated to zealously advocating for clients through a solution-focused approach. She is committed to helping clients through difficult circumstances by leading with excellent communication, attention to detail, and compassion.
Prior to joining Arnoux Sharma Standeford, LLC, Shamim worked as an in-house Legal Associate at Unit Finance, a financial technology company based in New York City. In this capacity, Shamim drafted commercial contracts, negotiated vendor agreements, and advised upper management on federal and state regulations. Shamim worked closely with finance, product, and compliance teams to identify and mitigate regulatory and legal risks. Shamim’s fintech experience gives her a unique perspective on technology-based financial services, the digital economy, and complex business operations.
Shamim earned her Juris Doctor from The University of Illinois-Chicago School of Law in 2026. During her time at UIC, Shamim served as President of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society, Financial Affairs Commissioner for the Student Bar Association, was a member of the Moot Court Honors Council, and spent time as a Student Attorney of the International Human Rights Clinic where she was able to appear before the Executive Office for Immigration Review after obtaining her 711 license.
Shamim received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science & History from The College of Saint Rose in 2022, where she was also captain of the women’s basketball team. While at Saint Rose, Shamim was an elected member of the Minority Opportunity Athletic Association, a student representative for the Northeastern Athletic Conference, a selected representative of the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum, and an executive board member of the Northeastern Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
In her free time, Shamim enjoys fitness, traveling, watching women’s sports, and spending time with loved ones.
